Message halfshafts. The troubleshooting has been done, the variables eliminated one by one apart from halfshafts. Your points are true but they dont apply to my situation anymore, they have been covered.

So now I am looking to eliminate the final obvious variable, and was looking for a 1-pc cv-jointed shaft to possibly do it with, but would rather not get it from Z1 given my experiences with their quality control. Why introduce another variable?

Switching to a CV-joint most certainly does make a difference. U-joints do not have to go bad to create unwanted vibration in certain applications, the design is inherently inferior to the CV-joint from a NVH standpoint, just because you can swap one for the other without noticing the increase, does not mean it isnt there. It is simply being masked/absorbed by other NVH absorbing features of the car/driveline. Every single automaker already knew this decades ago.

Yes, a used CCB is another variable, so I have two CCB-equipped shafts, and if necessary I will get a third brand new one.

I know you are frothing at the prospect of someone's (especially my) FN01R-C's to get some bad light, but sorry, not the case here. Go fish.
